Overdose Reversal & Naloxone

Naloxone In an overdose, opioids can slow breathing to the point of death. Nasal naloxone blocks the opioids and restores normal breathing when sprayed into the nose or injected into the muscle of someone who has overdosed. It is safe, easy to administer, and has no potential for abuse.

Harm Reduction: a set of strategies and ideas aimed at reducing negative consequences associated with drug use. Harm reduction is also a movement for social justice built on a belief in, and respect for, the rights of people who use drugs. Harm reduction incorporates a spectrum of strategies from safer use, to managed use, to abstinence, in order to meet drug users “where they’re at,” addressing conditions of use along with the use itself.
